Dear Reader, If you are looking to learn more about the importance of children's literature, then you have come to the right place. By clicking on the tabs above you will be able to explore several resources for children, parents, teachers, and caregivers. This information is about how to use children's literature to understand stress, anxiety, and family dynamics. Children experience much more than we may know and children's literature can help with coping with these experiences. My name is O'Brien Norris and I am currently a student at Tarleton State University. I had the opportunity to create a website in my Children's Literature class. Because of this opportunity I have learned about the many benefits of reading and the impact it can make on a child who is experiencing stress in their life.
I chose to create a website involving stress and anxiety in children because this topic needs more attention. Students in our classrooms go through much more than we may know. My main reason for choosing this topic is because of my experiences working with children in foster care. I have learned about many children and the traumatic experiences they lived through. Many factors can cause stress in children including, problems at school or at home. Learning the social and emotional skills necessary to face these issues can be made easier through reading.
If parents, educators, and caregivers work together, we can help children learn skills to help them cope with the events in their lives. As an adult it is difficult to handle these experiences so, it is important to recognize how difficult it can be for children experiencing stress. I hope this website will help you learn more about children's literature and how we can use it to help children cope. Thank you for taking the time to visit this site.
